Why So Negative?

Adopting the right attitude can convert a negative stress into a positive one.
Hans Selye

Attitudes are contagious.  Are yours worth catching?
Dennis and Wendy Mannering

Why is it that so many people of this generation are so negative? They start the week off with a negative feeling; the general perception of how Mondays are blue. The thought of facing another work week doesn't help matters. But why do we feel this way, when we know that without work we would probably bore ourselves senseless. I know that I particularly look forward to my days off, but once I'm living them I find myself thinking, I could have worked today...I don't really mind, simply because I'm bored! So instead of feeling blue every Monday morning, tell yourself how work is always there providing you a sense of feeling. Bringing in an income which we can't live without. And keeping you healthy!

Its not just work, that we are negative about, there are so many things other things in life. Exams, waking up, or washing the dishes. We feel like these are chores, but when it's all psychological. We can be easy on ourselves if we really want to be. Just to cut out some unnecessary stress. I mean, aren't we already stressed enough? Why not start that revision as early as possible? Why not choose a bedtime that will help us live the next day with a positive outlook? Or why can't we just get a dishwasher? ;)

Sometimes I think maybe we are being brainwashed to feel such negative feelings. After all, it is clearly mind over matter. If something doesn't matter hugely, then don't mind! Also, as mentioned in the above quotation ~ Attitudes are contagious; are your's worth catching? If the answer's no, then make then worth catching! Put that smile back on your face! Treat yourself and be grateful.

However sometimes we feel helplessly negative because we are genuinely being wronged by others. You may have been a victim of assault, or bullying. You may have had a hard upbringing and these things are bound to have an affect on your outlook on life. But time heals and as you move on, wash away that pain. Wash away the negative and embrace the positive with open arms. Make life that little bit easier and you'll be wanting to wake up smiling. Not just that, but you'll also fall asleep with a big grin on your face.

All you need to do is positively reinforce yourself each and everyday. Life is short, so live it happily ever after! (Even if this doesn't truly exist) Make it exist in your mind.
